Welcome to our about us page, the aim of this page is basically to let you get to know us a little bit, what we are about, how we work & the images we produce, & hopefully help you decide whether we are the right kind of photographers for your big day !

First all “we” is Bekkie & James, the owners & sole photographers at fairytale weddings photography. We set up fairytale weddings in 2004, and have always, and still undertake every wedding together, as we believe it is the way in which we photograph weddings together that defines our style  & sets us apart from other photographers, as having the two of us at your wedding has some major advantages. Firstly, as we work together at every wedding, and not have assistants, we always know what the other will be shooting and what images we will end up with at the end of the day, our photography style is so similar even we have trouble telling our images apart so your finished album has a real flow to it. It also means that not only are you capturing all the defining moments from two separate angles and view points, you will also be receiving images that will appeal equally to both the bride and groom.

We start the day with Bekkie going along to photograph the bridal preparations and James going along to photograph the groom and his best man/ushers having a bit of pre-wedding fun, be it, a game of golf, a shooting trip, a morning surf, or a simple drink in the local pub. We simply believe that it is equally important for your album to show both the bride and grooms mornings for the story to be complete. Of course nothing is set in stone so if either of you are not so keen, then that’s fine, although we do find when couples look through our finished albums they see the potential for catching some really fun and emotional moments during this time.

Our aim during the day, is where possible to blend into the background, capturing unobtrusively those moments that quite simply you are either too busy or too involved in to notice during the day, then afterwards to present you with a set of gorgeous images, that tell the full story of your day as it naturally unfolded in an album that makes you re-live every tear, every smile, and every emotional moment, every time you open it.

During the day we like to ask for two small 10-15 minute time frames, in which to capture firstly some group photographs for you, although these are done in a very natural and informal way to as to put everyone at ease. The second is for the bride and groom to come away and have some photographs taken on their own, at a location that we will have decided upon beforehand at our pre-wedding meeting/photo-shoot. By the end of this mini-shoot we aim to have captured for you a set of images that would not look out of place in the pages of a fashion magazine. It also has the added benefit of getting you ten minuets to just yourselves to let the “wow we just got married sink in.”

We then continue into the evening, capturing the dancing and fireworks if you’re having any, completing the whole story of your day in its entirety.

That is basically what we do, we are two highly passionate and creative photographers, who love what we do, and it shows in our work. We aim to exceed your expectations both on the day and with your finished photographs and album afterwards. We are friendly & approachable and like to just blend into the background and capture those moments that would be impossible to capture otherwise, as these are usually the ones that really touch people when they see them.
